The warp disruption field is nice and dandy, but the real problem is when you have a few afk neuts/reds/war targets in your system, cloaked and far out of harms way, checking every once and a while for easy prey with absolutely no way to ever catch or kill these stealthers.
I have a solution.
Skill Required: Anchoring Level 2 or 3.
A 10-15km Cloaking Module Disruptor: It works the same way as a warp disrupting field (bubble), however it disrupts the cloaking abilities of a ship for 20 seconds. A much smaller radius, non-warp disrupting sphere. (large signature radius)
You cannot place a warp disruption field within 50-100km of the Cloaking Module Disruptor. You can place multiple warp disruptors beside themselves. Multiple can be used by the same person, they have substantially low life and are easily taken out by even a tech1 frigate, however the disruption field will remain 20 seconds after the device is destroyed and will have to further wait 20 seconds after the field dissipates to cloak again.
The timer will not decrease if a target is in warp.
The materials to make a cloaking module disruptor I will be: 972 Nocxium 241 Zydrine 78 Megacyte
Tech II will have 1.5x the decloaking radius and a smaller signature radius the size of a pod. ********************************************* Cloaking Field Scanner Probes I Skill Req. Astrometrics Level 4
These scanning probes only and entirely pick up the field disruptions given off by Cloaking Modules, they won't be able to 100% pinpoint the location of a ship, but you'll be able to warp within 20km of a cloaked ship if it isn't moving, if the ship IS moving, you will be able to scan the direction the Cloaking Module is heading and be able to warp 50km ahead of it.
The scanners won't discern what ship it is or any information on the player, you will only know you have found a hidden vessel and are able to intercept. (Useful against afk threats staying logged on in a system for hours or days. Also an opportunity to create stealthed npc ships/fleets carrying rare modules or items that will use sleeper-like tactics)
The probes are not built with a bpo, their bpc can be purchased through various factions, sold/traded on the market by the players. Each bpc is a 100-run copy at 0M.E. and 0P.E. The requirements to purchase the bpc will be somewhat low and only from factions that give probing-related missions out.
Building costs will be very very low. Estimated value of these probes should be 200,000.00isk each.
Keeping these probes out and around your ship and setting them to scan will also give you a directional arrow showing which direction a stealthed ship is located from you within 100km of your ship.
Meh, just an idea. Got some afk stealthers in the system I'm in and I'd love to have some ways to find the hi-sec huggers.
